Week 8, Day 2

Welcome to Week 8 (the final week!) of your internship with Concussion Alliance! We are so proud of everyone, all of you have done an incredible job! We’re looking forward to seeing everyone’s completed projects! We hope that this curriculum load continues to suit you well as we finish off the program.

Our second expert guest speaker this week is Dr. Christine Mac Donald on Tuesday at 10:00am PT | 12:00pm CT | 1:00pm ET. She will be speaking about concussion in the military and mental health issues that are comorbid with concussion. Her research focuses on neuropathology and neuroimaging techniques. You can read more about her here. The content covered in this discussion may be upsetting to those with a history of head injury and concerns about their long-term health as a result; please engage with this to whatever extent is best for you.

We will also be holding exit interviews and end of internship showcases this week! Sign up for individual slots here. Fill out our exit survey as well!

We will be having our final sendoff on Friday at 1:30pm PT | 3:30pm CT | 4:30pm ET! We are so excited to be wrapping this program up and are so proud of you, but will miss you all!

Start-of-day Procedure

  1. Check Slack for new messages.

  2. Check the schedule in #weekly-schedules on Slack, on the week page in this portal, or on the shared Google Calendar.

  3. Check the ‘day page’ for tasks & content.

  4. Check your project resource Google doc in your project folder for new resources.

  5. Check in with your PM on Slack.

  6. Check in with your project partner on Slack .

Curriculum for Today

We’ve provided a group of educational resources below. We’ve listed them in an order that we hope will build on your understanding of concussions as you go through them.

  • Today’s curriculum is a bit lighter to allow you all to work on finalizing your projects/preparing your showcase presentations; good luck and reach out for anything!

    • Do this at your own pace throughout the week (~2.5 hrs total)
