Week 3, Day 4

Welcome to the final week of your Externship! We’ve so enjoyed having you all become a part of our community this December. On Monday, you’ll join us for your second Community Meeting, where you’ll tell our volunteers about the work you’ve been doing the past two weeks and hear what our organization has been up to beyond your externship program. On Wednesday, you’ll hear from expert guest speaker Dr. Alexandra Clark, a TBI Polytrauma Rehabilitation and Neuropsychology Fellow at the San Diego Veterans Hospital/University of California San Diego. On Friday, you’ll have an opportunity to showcase what you’ve learned and done during your externship to an audience of your peers, friends, and (hopefully) some professionals affiliated with our organization.

There are four tasks to do today:

  • If you are working on a webpage we would love to have those live by the end of the day today if possible. Conor and Malayka would also like to jump on a call and talk through your pages and make sure that you’ve added all of the correct SEO and metadata information, so reach out to one of them to schedule a time for that.

  • As we did with our other guest speakers we will be writing a short thank you to Dr. Clark for taking the time to speak with us. Please write a sentence or two of thanks on this google doc.

  • Continue to work on your end of externship showcase presentation. Here are our recommendations again:

    • Create a short powerpoint, like 3 or 4 slides worth, of some of the things you have learned or some highlights from our three weeks together to share.

    • Decide how you would like to present the project(s) that you worked on. You can add on to your powerpoint or share your screen and walk through what you’ve created.

    • Remember that each of you has about 10 minutes of time to fill with all the super cool things you’ve done and learned over the last three weeks.

  • Send the zoom link for your showcase to whomever you may want to invite

(Optional) If you are comfortable with it, please consider making a short (30-90 sec) selfie video about your experience with Concussion Alliance. If you create one, send it to us and let us know whether we could keep it on our page (like this testimonial from Trevor Hughes on our donate page) and/or share it publicly on social media and with potential donors.

Educational Resources:

  1. We have nothing new for you here. You’ve learned so much!
