Curriculum for Today
We’ve provided a group of educational resources below. We’ve listed them in an order that we hope will build on your understanding of concussions as you go through them.
Unit 3: Pediatric Concussions/Education (~45 min)
Check out SCHOOLFirst, a Canadian concussion resource for students and educators, created in part by the Oak Concussion lab (headed by this week’s guest speaker Dr. Nick Reed). The site is kind of complex, so we recommend starting with their videos.
On the home page, watch the intro video. Alternately, here is direct link to the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvvRPRjVOt8&t=159s (~ 2 minutes)
Also on the home page, this video, direct link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFfiVXLfIws (~1 minute)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5ICxXX1T1U&t=2s (~4 minutes)
Then read through a page or two from each of these resources: “Build your knowledge,” Create a supportive Culture,” and “Know your role.” (~20 minutes)
Look through this page of resources and skim one or two that interest you.https://schoolfirstconcussion.ca/downloads-and-other-resources/ (~15 minutes)
Unit 6: Stanford Writing Course
Stanford Writing Course Unit/Week 3: Crafting Better Sentences and Paragraphs
Do this at your own pace throughout the week, each lesson is separate (~2.5 hours total)
