Week 2, Day 5
Happy second week! We have a lighter curriculum this week and have standardized the meeting schedule as much as possible. Please let us know if you have any more feedback going forward!
We’re excited to welcome two more expert guest speakers this week! We’ll also be watching a movie and having a discussion on it. You’ll continue to work on your projects and, for science writers, we’ll have a workshop on working with Squarespace as you start to look towards building your webpages at the end of the week.
Meetings (Zoom link in Slack)
Today we will have our social hour at 10 am PST as well as another expert guest speaker: Kam Gardner at 12:30 pm PST
There are two Tasks to do today:
If you haven’t yet, watch the Squarespace tutorial!
Project-Related Reminders for Today:
Check-in with your partner to see how drafting is going. Use your PM’s and fellow science writers as resources to answer questions and address obstacles you encounter. Think about reaching out to a different project group to peer review your draft once you both have completed rough drafts.
Conor and Malayka would like to meet with your project groups to touch base at some point. Given that they are enduring some hard family times this week, please be patient and flexible as they figure out what is manageable for them at this time and keep up the good work on your projects.
Curriculum for Today
Yesterdays curriculum was targeted toward preparing you for our expert guest speaker Dr. Eve Valera. Please come to the talk having reviewed this curriculum so you are ready to contribute to discussion! Curriculum today is designed to prime you for our guest speaker, Kam Gardner, tomorrow.
