Week 2, Day 1
Welcome to the second week of the program! This week you’ll get a chance to take your science writing knowledge and newfound concussion knowledge and apply them, while building on the learning from last week.
We’re going to do some more community-building activities with a Speed Friendship game on Tuesday (6/21), begin our discussion series on Shaken Brain with our first discussion on Wednesday (6/22), and then on Thursday we’ll officially begin the primary part of your internship – projects!
Our speaker this week is Dr. Nick Reed of the Oak Concussion Lab on Thursday (6/23).
There is one task today:
Pick a category/topic for our newsletter from the June 23 Final document and give a first read to the research and any accompanying articles (if your topic has them).
Work through this curriculum for today:

Discussion questions
Read What Happens to Your Brain When You Get a Concussion? and What Happens to Your Brain When You Get a Concussion: a Deeper Dive. (~30 min)
These resources were created as a project during the Summer 2020 internship, so while reading take note both of the content of the information and of the style/layout/language/etc to gather data for when you create your own page.
