Week 1, Day 5
Happy first Friday! Congratulations on finishing the first week of the internship, it’s been an incredible week so far, and I can’t wait to spend more time with you all and get started with projects and the newsletter next week.
There are two Tasks to do today:
(If you haven’t yet) Internship Learning Plan
Some of you will have an Internship Learning Plan that you’ve been given by your school to complete and have your supervisor sign. Even if your school hasn’t provided a learning plan, we think that the structure of intentionally setting learning goals will help you make the best of your internship. Schedule a 15-minute meeting with your PM intern for sometime this week to plan out your learning goals. If you don’t have a plan from your school, your PM will provide you with a template that we’ve created.
(If you haven’t yet) Thank-You to Dan Fogarty. We would like to send out this thank-you document by the end of the day today so please write Dan a quick note if you haven’t gotten around to it.
Take a moment to share your thanks to Tuesday’s guest speaker, Dan Fogarty, in the document linked above! Write a short message to Dan (preferably signed with your first name), and once we have thank-yous from everyone we’ll send the document on to him.
If you have any questions for Dan or want to reach out to him, you can reach him by email at: dfoges422@gmail.com
Stanford Science Writing Course Feedback Form
Please fill out the (very short) form above to let us know your thoughts about the Science Writing course unit that we assigned as curriculum earlier this week. We value your feedback on this and want to make sure that the curriculum we’re giving you is interesting and valuable.
Please fill out the above form listing your working preference (solo/partner) and your top 5 projects by the end of the day today. We can’t assign projects until everyone fills this out so please make sure to get to this form today.
Work through this curriculum for today:
