Week 6, Day 4

Happy Thursday of the sixth week!!

We will start the day off with a subcohort check-in meeting at 10 am PT | 12 pm CT | 1 pm ET.

Later on, we will have our discussion on League of Denial and Concussion Movie at 1 pm PT | 3 pm CT | 4 pm ET. The discussion questions can be found here.

For those of you that scheduled project meetings, we will continue to meet with you to discuss your first drafts today.

Start-of-day Procedure

  1. Check Slack for new messages

  2. Check the schedule in #weekly-schedules on Slack, on the week page in this portal

  3. Check the ‘day page’ (like this one) for tasks & content

  4. Check your project resource Google doc in your project folder for new resources

  5. Check in with your PM on Slack

  6. Check in with your project partner(s) on Slack

There are 3 (new) tasks to do today:

  • Prepare for our discussion on Concussion and League of Denial by reviewing the discussion questions.

  • Check on Newsletter Synopsis revisions

  • Please write a thank you note for Dr. Valera, Dr. Corwin, and Dr. Reed. You can find the thank you note by clicking on their names.

We’ve provided a group of educational resources below. We’ve listed them in an order that we hope will build on your understanding of concussions as you go.

Unit 2: Skills for Developing Your Resource Page (~40 min)

  • Look at these resources on Squarespace: 

    • Read page to understand how to build your page and build content  (~5 min)  Pages and content basics, (you can watch the video if you would like)

    • Read page to understand images (~10 min)  All about images (again you can watch the videos if you find them helpful)

  • Look at this overview video on Canva: Create social media posts and stories (~23 min)
